The Historic Boat Museum of Iquitos in the Peruvian Amazon is the largest museum of historic boats in Latin America.

Clavero with Ayapua PretoThe Historic Boat Museum has a fleet of four river boats spanning the early days of steam navigation in the Peruvian Amazon, including the oldest boat still navigating the Amazon River ‘Clavero’; two Rubber Era cargo and passenger ships ‘Ayapua’ and ‘Rio Amazonas’ and a historic dredge ‘Pithecia’ that is now a floating research station.

Please enjoy your visits to the permanent exhibits in the ‘Ayapua’ or consider taking a river journey cruise aboard the historic ‘Rio Amazonas’ or visit the riverboat lodge on the ‘Clavero’ or ‘Pithecia’.
